Issue
The recalled products were tested and found to pose an unacceptable risk of electric shock and/or fire. The products are uncertified, which means they do not meet the Canadian electrical safety standards and have not been approved for sale in Canada.
What you should do
Stop using the recalled product(s) and return them to the store where you bought them, or dispose of them.
Use only certified electrical products.
- Certified products can be identified by a recognized certification mark on the product.
- The certification mark must be on the product itself, not just the packaging.
- If you are unsure whether a product is certified, ask the retailer to show you the certification mark on the product before you buy it.
